The Bastrop Patriotic Festival will take place Saturday, July 1 beginning with a variety of activities at 10:00 a.m. and culminating with a patriotic firework display beginning at 9:15 p.m. Throughout the day, there will be plenty to enjoy including Zumba in the Park, a petting zoo, sand volleyball, water wonderland, children’s crafts and activities, a washer tournament, dominos tournament, performances by the Bastrop Honor Choir and Austin Symphonic Band, car show and parade.

pieDo you like pie? Really, who doesn’t like some kind of pie? This event is for everyone, even if for some reason you don’t like pie. Drop by the Bastrop Public Library for your chance in enjoy all things pie related or just to socialize with others from the community.

The Let’s Eat Pie Social will include a pie eating contest, games, door prizes, guessing jars and gift baskets. The pie eating contest will be limited to the first 10 people between the ages of 8 and 99 to sign up. So bring a pie to share and enjoy a slice while you mix and mingle during the event.

Summer Movies in the Park is the perfect chance to gather your friends and family for a fun night out. On, Saturday, June 17, you will be able to enjoy the classic, Wizard of Oz. The movie will begin at dusk, somewhere around 8 or 8:30.

Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers and snacks to enjoy during the show. Concessions will also be available. Pets are also welcome. The movie will take place at Fisherman’s Park. Prior to the movie, Ms. Poppy the clown will be there making balloon animals and doing face painting.
