Art WalkMake plans to attend one of Bastrop’s favorite events. On the first Friday of each month, Downtown Bastrop plays host for the First Friday Art Walk. The event features art, live music, dining shopping and much more.

This month’s event will take place on Friday, June 1 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and will include a  variety of art including bronzes, sculptures, paintings, pottery and photography as part of the event. Various locations throughout Downtown Bastrop will stay open for the event. Plan to walk about then grab dinner at one of the downtown restaurants to complete your evening.

Several locations have special activities planned for June. The Bastrop County Museum will feature on exhibit on the history of women’s swimwear and serve homemade ice cream

Crawfish ColoVista Golf Club will host the Craw-Daddy Open on Sunday, May 27 beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. The event is open to both members and non-members so get your team together. The entry fee is $80 for members and $110 for non-members and includes your green fee, cart fee and range as well as the other event activities.

Finish your round of golf and stick around for the fish and crawfish boil, drinks and live music. Guests not participating in the tournament can purchase a ticket for unlimited food and drinks for just $40 per person.

Bastrop Music FestivalThe inaugural Bastrop Music Festival will take place throughout the weekend at a variety of Bastrop venues for your entertainment pleasure. With a variety of shows each day, there is something everyone will enjoy. Pick and choose your favorite artists to listen to all weekend long.

Smithville Fly-InCome out for the 14th annual Smithville Fly-In on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This fun event has something for everyone so bring your family and friends.

Free training will be offered at 10:00 by the Young Eagles Ground School Training for youth ages 8-17 followed by a candy drop at 11:15. Make sure you are there in time for that. In addition, there will games and prizes, $20 helicopter rides and displays of the USAF: T-6 Texan II and the Air National Guard’s Black Hawk. There will be lunch available by Woodmen Life and a courtesy van to get you to the event. This event is hosted by Friends of 84R and everyone is invited to attend.
