Smithville Casino NightSmithville’s Casino Night is back for the 22nd year and promises to be a fun event as always. Sponsored by the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce, the event will take place Saturday, July 28 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at the Smithville Rec Center. Tickets will be available at the door for $45 per person.

The event will include a variety of casino games including poker, blackjack, roulette and craps. You will receive $10,000 in chips when you arrive so you can gamble the night away. Zimmerhanzel’s will provide a BBQ dinner plus there will be drinks, a raffle for some great prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Elgin RodeoThe Elgin Rodeo is back and there is lots of fun to be had for the next three days. Start Thursday evening with the free SLACK event.

The fun continues on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5-$10 and children 4 and under are free. There are also discounts for military and law enforcement. Each evening will include broncs, roping, doggin, barrels and bulls events. Mutton Busting will take place each night too with a $25 fee but is limited to the first 20 people to sign up. Kids are invited to participate in the calf scramble with cash prizes of $10.

The number you should pay the most attention to is the interest rate. That doesn’t mean price isn’t important because it is but the amount of interest you pay on the home could be almost as much as the price of the home depending on your interest rate.
