Elgin RodeoThe Elgin Rodeo is back and there is lots of fun to be had for the next three days. Start Thursday evening with the free SLACK event.

The fun continues on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5-$10 and children 4 and under are free. There are also discounts for military and law enforcement. Each evening will include broncs, roping, doggin, barrels and bulls events. Mutton Busting will take place each night too with a $25 fee but is limited to the first 20 people to sign up. Kids are invited to participate in the calf scramble with cash prizes of $10.

The Elgin Rodeo is sure to provide classic Texas entertainment all weekend long so grab a crowd and come out for a night you want forget.

Bastrop Patriotic FestivalFood, fireworks and fun are just the start of what you will find at the Bastrop Patriotic Festival. Friday evening’s events will include a domino’s tournament, 1K and 5K followed by a street dance.

Saturday’s events start early with a pet parade followed by a wide variety of events including a petting zoo of exotic animals, water wonderland, sand volleyball, free airboat rides, games and crafts, a car show, washer tournament, sack races and live piano music. In the afternoon, there will also be hot pepper, pie, hot dog and ice cream eating contests. Finish the night with a patriotic display of fireworks that you won’t forget.
