SoupOn Saturday, February 23, you will have two chances to participate in fun events that support local organizations. The Empty Bowl Project supports the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry, which provides food through their “emergency food” program to those in need.  The 15th annual event will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention Center.

Your ticket purchase provides you a pottery soup bowl decorated by local school age artists,  delicious soup and cookies for dessert. Children 12 and under can eat for free. The soups are provided by local restaurants and caterers. Purchase your tickets online prior to the event or at the door on the day of the event. Tickets are $20 per person.

Eco Fest 2019Eco Fest 2019 will take place on Saturday, February 9th beginning at 10:00 a.m. The educational event will provide lots of information on a wide variety of topics including alternative energy, recycling, sustainable living as well as eco-friendly building practices.

Exhibitors and vendors will be setup from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. A Run for the Rest of Us Half K begins at 10 from the Gazebo. A bike repair and maintenance workshop also begins at 10:00. There will also be musical performances at different times and recognition of the junior high artists that won the Endangered Species and Habitats art contest at noon with a reception immediately following the recognition.
