Tax ChangesIf you are a homeowner, tax deductions provide some nice benefits that make owning a home more appealing for you. Here is an overview of recent changes from the newly passed tax bill that may affect your bottom line when you do your taxes.

The mortgage interest deduction that you likely know and love downsized a little and will only provide benefits on mortgages up to $750,000 down from $1,000,000. This is still a huge benefit to homeowners and the change will only impact a small percentage of homeowners. If you already own a home with a mortgage up to $1,000,000 you will be grandfathered in at your current levels so this change won’t affect you. The mortgage interest deductions on second homes are still available as well but at the new limits.

Without adequate insulation, your home will be exposed to the fluctuations in temperature from the outside causing your units to work harder and might possibly shorten the lifespan of the systems due to the overexertion of them.

Insulation can also add protection from noise helping you hear less from room to room as well as coming from the outside of your home. Air can come in and be lost through many points so it is important to have insulation on all sides of your home for the maximum
