Once Thanksgiving arrives, the holiday season is in full swing and this year is no exception with an abundance of holiday themed activities this weekend for you to enjoy. Start with a little shopping Saturday morning, November 30 at the Bastrop Farmer’s Market. This annual artisan market will feature a variety of unique artisans presenting handmade and original arts and crafts that are perfect for gift giving or decorating your home for the holidays.
After you shop ‘til you drop, visit Historic Downtown Bastrop for Wassail Fest where you will find shops open for the . From 1-5 p.m., stroll through the shops and taste everyone’s favorite hot mulled cider. After sampling them all, vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Award contest and enjoy live music.
At 6:00 p.m., the Lost Pines Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at Fisherman’s Park. There will be music, treats, fun and a visit from Santa Claus.
Beginning that evening, the Bastrop River of Lights will take place daily through the New Year. The event features displays spread over a one-half mile promenade in Fisherman’s Park. This event will continue nightly through January 3, 2020.
A variety of holiday events taking place all over town will ensure your spirits are lifted and allow you to embrace the holiday season.
