As September continues, pumpkin everything will start showing up in stores. From pumpkins to candy, and pumpkin spice lattes to muffins, the bright orange globe will infiltrate every store and restaurant you visit. Whether you are a fan of Starbucks signature fall beverage and start counting down for it at the start of summer or just indulge on the first cool day of the year, there is no question that pumpkin and pumpkin spice are everywhere now. If you want to add pumpkin to your life (and home) beyond your morning cup of java, here are some ways to add pumpkin to your Bastrop home in small, tasteful ways.
No matter if you love all things pumpkin or not, you can’t deny that seeing a bright pumpkin on a porch truly signifies the coming of fall. Add one large pumpkin or a trio of small pumpkins beside your front door for a touch of small décor that is classic and fun. Pumpkins go beyond basic now with a variety of colors and shapes for a truly unique look. If you are looking for bigger, purchase a variety of pumpkins, gourds and mums to make a presentation for your yard or porch. It’s ok to bring the pumpkin inside as well. Scatter some fall leaves on your dining room table, with a few small pumpkins atop for a festive look that will last from September to Thanksgiving. Pumpkins can also work on a mantle or accent table and make great indoor décor. If you are feeling crafty, there are a variety of pumpkin wreaths you can make as well.
Want to go beyond decorations, a pumpkin (or pumpkin spiced) candle will add a seasonal scent to your home that will be great to light while you curl up with a book on a cool day. Don’t neglect the easiest room in the house to incorporate pumpkin in your home. Pumpkin recipes are all the trend so go beyond basic pumpkin pie with pumpkin muffins or pancakes for breakfast, add toasted pumpkin seeds to your lunchtime salad or even enjoy pumpkin risotto for dinner.
If you are thinking about selling your home this fall, many of these things will help your home stand out from its competition. Like anything, too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing so don’t overdo it but a little pumpkin can make a nice touch this time of year.
